Dunedin auctioneer Chris Kennedy has won the Real Estate Institute’s national real estate auctioneers championship, held in Auckland over 5-6 July. There were 28 contestants in the annual event, which has the prize for the top 2 of competing against Australia’s best in September.
3 of the 6 finalists were from Harcourts’ North Shore business, Cooper & Co Ltd.
Chief judge Ross Foreman said the championships had been an important catalyst in lifting the standard & professionalism of real estate auctioneers throughout New Zealand.
Mr Kennedy has been in real estate since 1992 and owns the Harcourts operation in Dunedin & Balclutha.
The winner of the novice category was Daniel Coulson, from Christchurch.
Mr Kennedy & runner-up Robert Tulp will represent New Zealand at the Australasian championships in Auckland on Tuesday-Wednesday 14-15 September. New Zealand has won that title for the past 3 years.
