Harcourts auctioneer & national auction manager Phil McGoldrick has won the Australasian Real Estate Institutes’ auctioneering championships.
In the real estate industry for 24 years, including 10 as an auctioneer, Mr McGoldrick has represented New Zealand in the international championship every year since 2006, when he won the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand’s national competition and went on to become the first Kiwi to reach the finals of the Australasian championship.
Runner up in the New Zealand competition for the past 3 years and a finalist in the trans-Tasman competition twice before, Mr McGoldrick won this year’s Australasian title ahead of 2-time winner & fellow New Zealander Mark Sumich and 2 Australian auctioneers in the final.
Mr McGoldrick averages around 500 property auctions/year and also does numerous charity auctions. He was one of 16 leading auctioneers who qualified for the 2-day finals, held in Hobart last week.
